We're not currently attending church, but not because we don't have faith - it's just that we haven't found the kind of church home in which we feel comfortable, although we're members at a local church and I sometimes do Bible Studies (kiddo goes to youth, when he feels like it). I do have a problem with some of the closed-mindedness I've encountered. Being a liberal and a Christian is definitely a little weird. I didn't realize we had this in common.

I love Anne Lamott's take on religion. She's so fresh and open. I'll have to look into the others. :)Bookfoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08247136634069540446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5498097.post-11024409790499286072007-03-23T12:33:00.000-07:002007-03-23T12:33:00.000-07:00I absolutely agree with you, Purl. I don't have anything against conservatives but I don't feel they should get to "corner the market" on Christianity. And I don't want people to always associate Christianity with negative attitudes like hatred towards gay people.Amy M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10851557242036545042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5498097.post-72440364432146784702007-03-23T12:28:00.000-07:002007-03-23T12:28:00.000-07:00Thank you so much for sharing this. We recently joined a Lutheran church after many, many years of never attending church. I'm still uncomfortable with the word Christian because of how it has been appropriated by the right wing.KnittingReaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08808217677224015173noreply@blogger.com
