In Dover, Pennsylvania , all eight school board members up for re-election were defeated after they all began pushing for intelligent design in schools. This was Pat Robertson's response:
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club."
I am so mad right now that I can barely contain myself. Pat Robertson does not have the right to dictate to people what God thinks or how He/She will respond to things. He is not God's gift to the world and for that man to call himself a Christian is sacrilege.
I don't care where you stand on the intelligent design issue. (personally, I believe in a God-driven and God-created universe but I don't believe that should be taught in schools) However, one thing I think we can all agree on is that Pat Robertson is a no-good bastard. It's people like him that are driving people of faith away from religion.

While I agree with your rant here, it doesn't sound very Christian. Shouldn't there be some lesson about accepting others, even those we disagree with?
You may be right but when I see a great wrong being done I feel like I have to speak out. Hate is not a Christian value and that is what people like Pat Robertson spread around. It is because of people like him that others are being driven away from religion and faith.
And calling someone a 'no-good bastard' isn't hateful? I agree that speaking out against injustice, but I don't think name calling is the solution.
You are absolutely right. I never said I was perfect. I don't hate Pat Robertson but I'm really mad at him. And, unfortunately, I sometimes resort to name-calling when I am mad at someone. But I for one would never presume to take on the powers of God by raining down judgment on a whole town on the basis of how they vote.
First of all, Amy you are perfect.
Secondly, getting pissed off at the hypocrisy of church leaders is extremely Christian. Jesus himself went off when he felt the house of god was being defiled.
No thinking person should be expected to be tolerant of Pat Robertson and his ilk.
Hating idiots like these so called Christian leaders, or far that matter, any of the hateful and stupid leaders of the multitude of evil sects of all religions that infect our world is all to natural and righteous. Strongly expressing contempt over the utter nonsense they espouse is our duty, and is also good clean fun.
Anonymous is right about one thing though, name calling is silly. The only appropriate action would be a public disembowelment of this moron while he still breaths, then hanging his entrails around his church as a warning to others like him.
One can only dream.
