Oscars

Well, I have to say I was a little disappointed with the Oscars last night. I thought Ellen did a great job hosting. She is just so cute. My best dressed female award goes to Penelope Cruz who looked stunning. And my best dressed male award goes to George Clooney. I' m not a huge fan of Clooney but he really rocked that tux in an Old Hollywood sort of way.

I managed to get in three Oscar-nominated films this past weekend in my efforts to be prepared for the big night. And I have to say I was really disappointed with THE DEPARTED. It was entertaining and well-acted but I don't think it was an Oscar-caliber film. I wanted LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE to win because it was truly original. I wanted PAN'S LABYRINTH to win Best Foreign Film but I'm glad it got some other awards. Some of the categories were pretty tough. I love love love Helen Mirren so I am happy that she won. But, I was hoping Penelope Cruz would win. Also, Forest Whitaker was great LAST KING OF SCOTLAND but, as much as it hurts me to say this, I think maybe Leonardo had earned that one.

Now, I have all of the post-Oscar dress coverage to look forward to!

I was just bored! I actually fell asleep before they did any of the big awards. it's just too late for us on the East Coast.

(I kind of think Forest Whitaker was more of a supporting role... is it just me?)

I loved Little Miss Sunshine. I really wanted it to win. And Helen Mirren was good, but I loved Maryl Streep (sp?) in Devil Wears Prada. She was so good. Sure, it wasn't as heavy a role as The Queen, but sigh.

I'm with you on The Departed. I didn't see it, but I don't want to either! Mob movie. Booo.
